Sending a Lexicon out in search of meaning (5) On Home Turf...

The saying goes that a change is as good as a rest, and that can be helpful when returning home and seeing things from a fresh perspective. Having somewhat overspent on the housekeeping during the first week home, your excursioneer decides to economize and perhaps work off a few calories by walking from home in Lichtenberg to view an exhibition in Neukoelln, some four and a half kilometres to the south. In the event the route deviated from the one plotted on the map, as is the wont of these things...

So much richness of meaning for our lexicon! But we must take care when approaching Frankfurter Allee, a hot-bed of  'Street Art' and interventions - clamouring for attention and significance!

The lexicon pops in unobtrusively, slowly acquiring meaning and altering through time...

... profound meanings can emerge from the most unregarded corners!
Can sit quite happily for years, waiting to be encountered...

Across the railway at Ostkreuz. Such bustle, such hurry on a bank holiday Sunday! Would anyone ever stop to smell the roses, or spot our emergent lexicon?

We opt for a quieter spot away from the madding crowd!

On tree number 284, in Treptow...

Political messages shouted from placards all around town. We prefer hushed tones, thank you very much!

In the lee of the wall of the Rathaus Neukolln (town hall). They will surely safeguard our newly evolving meaning!
